Dr. Seth Pollak, professor of Psychology, Psychiatry, and Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison directs the Child Emotion Research Lab and the Wisconsin International Adoption Project. Dr. Pollak will be speaking about the formation of the Wisconsin International Adoption Project (WIAP) and the research being conducted there.
WIAP research is aimed at developing a clear picture of the successes, challenges, and needs of children who spent some early part of their lives in institutional, orphanage, or foster care settings abroad before joining their families in the United States. Results from the research will be used to better inform our communities, and to aid families, agencies, schools, and health professionals to help children and families succeed. WIAP is funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health. For more information, please visit the WIAP web site. |
