Children and Families First, Inc. is a state-licensed, non-profit child-placing agency serving families in Wisconsin. Our mission is to offer adoption and parent education services that support the creation of loving families where both children and parents thrive and are able to reach their full potential as human beings. ...to provide services that are ethical, responsive, and caring. ...to respect the wisdom of our clients' hearts while offering professional guidance to help families make informed decisions and to prepare families for the rewards and responsibilities of parenthood.
Anne M. Johnson, M.S.W./L.C.S.W., has served families and children in
Wisconsin since 1981 as a parent educator, family counselor and adoption specialist.
She is the co-author of The Essence of Parenting, a national correspondence
course published as a book based on the philosophy
that parenting can be a path to personal growth and fulfillment when
parents are willing to look inside themselves to face inner obstacles
that keep them from parenting as they long to: with joy, patience and unconditional love.
She is also the author of
Return to the Sea: Reflections on Anne Morrow Lindbergh's Gift From the Sea.
The book is a collection of reflections and practical suggestions for leading a balanced
life founded on inner contentment. Anne is the mother of three daughters:
Hannah, Claire and Martha.
Lori A. DuRussel, M.S., works with Children and Families First in the areas of
administration and educational program development. In addition to helping coordinate
the agency’s educational seminars, she enjoys teaching some of the classes, and you
are likely to see her name on communications about potential classes. She provides other
support to the agency in administrative areas including website administration, developing
handouts and informational materials for clients, and maintaining agency records.
Lori’s most challenging and rewarding job is being a mother to her three children:
Abigail, Bryseida, and Gabian. She is looking forward to welcoming another child
to her family in April, 2008.
The Board of Children and Families First, Inc., is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the day to day operations of the agency, hiring and evaluating staff, setting and approving a budget, and ensuring that the agency functions within the state statutes for a non-profit child-placing agency. Atty H. Elizabeth Kennebeck - Vice President and Treasurer Liz is the Assistant Legal Councel with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Hind, M.S./C.C.C.-S.L.P., B.R.S.-S. - Secretary Jackie is an Outreach Program Manager and Speech-Language Pathologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she coordinates clinical research.
